myself to do more for the general public, to get off the seat of my pants and… well share more of the stuff happening currently – difficult because it is all up in the air all of the time, unpredictable and so maybe false…
Here a case in point, – in the file of the ‘entrepot’ question I proposed this empty postal building as semi-temporary haunt for an archive processing entity…
but alas, the plans for a 8^storey monstrosity in it’s place were pushed through against all protestations of local habitants and formed action groups – let alone that the city might appreciate that they have here a golden opportunity to save some of the left-over green areas in town…
to no avail… this is what is left of the building – one that was structurally sound and well-built, easily expanded with little or no ecological waste, a prime example of what one can do with existing structures… but no, it’s far more lucrative to wreck it all and start from scratch, building with flimsy materials so that you (the taxpayer) can start all over again in a few years…
a crying shame.
